The purpose(s) of this organization shall be to serve as the university’s student chapter of Médecins Sans Frontières, working to raise funds to aid the humanitarian organization abroad, spread awareness of global healthcare issues, volunteer locally, and establish unique interpersonal and interprofessional relationships with others interested or involved in healthcare.
Members can network with like-minded peers and professionals in global health and humanitarian work. The chapter hosts educational events, including guest lectures, workshops, and panel discussions led by community members and experts within a wide range of fields. Members can develop valuable skills in emergency medical response, public health strategies, and leadership. Volunteer opportunities are available locally and through national and international MSF initiatives. The chapter provides resources and guidance for career advancement in global health and humanitarian aid, including mentorship from seasoned professionals and a large student body. Advocacy efforts allow members to raise awareness about global health issues and support humanitarian causes.
