The purpose of LUL is to:
1. Uphold the traditions of the University of Illinois.
2. Improve relations between students and the administration.
3. Aspire to bring men together to pursue the development of fellowship and the unification of the community as a whole.
4. Strive towards the pursuit of academic excellence, community involvement, and cultural awareness.
5. To develop leadership skills amongst students.
