The purpose(s) of The Society of Minority Students in History is to support current racial, ethnic, and LGBTQ+ students at the University of Illinois studying History and other students unaffiliated with the History Department. SMSIH hosts academic and social events to allow students to learn about diverse histories and form connections with students from similar backgrounds and experiences.
