Brain Matters @ Illinois

Brain Matters is the premiere Undergraduate Neuroscience Journal at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. We explore topics in neuroscience, psychology, and biology, featuring contributions from students across UIUC—including fields like computer science and engineering. This diversity allows volumes to have a wide range of articles. We publish approachable, credible writing that bridges core science and everyday curiosity.

While tailored for the campus community, Brain Matters is open access thanks to the University Library. Our aim is to build an inclusive, collaborative space where students learn to communicate science with clarity, accuracy, and heart.
