Engineering Career Services (ECS) at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign is a dedicated resource within The Grainger College of Engineering that supports engineering students in their career development and connects them with employers seeking top talent.
👩🎓 Student Services ECS provides a wide range of support for undergraduate and graduate engineering students, including: - Career Advising: One-on-one appointments and drop-in advising for resume reviews, job search strategies, interview prep, and more. - Workshops & Career Labs: Regular sessions on topics like networking, interviewing, and using AI in the job search. - Career Fairs: Large-scale events connecting students with hundreds of employers. - Job Search Resources: Guides for internships, full-time roles, and graduate school applications. - Handshake Access: Job postings, employer events, and virtual chats with recruiters. - Interview Rooms: Quiet spaces for virtual or phone interviews. - Resume Samples & Templates: Tools to help students craft strong application materials. 🏢 Employer Engagement ECS also serves as a gateway for employers to connect with engineering talent through: - Career Fairs & On-Campus Interviews - Tech Talks & Info Sessions - Partnerships with Student Organizations - Recruiting Guidelines & Best Practices - Salary and Enrollment Data 📍 Location & Hours Office: Suite 3300, Digital Computer Lab (DCL) Advising Hours: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 4:30PM Drop-In Hours: Monday–Friday, 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM Career Labs: Thursdays 4–6 PM, Saturdays 1–3 PM (Grainger Library) through week 8 each semester.
