The Off-road Illini was founded in order to give students an opportunity to be involved with a real life engineering project and gain experience in design, fabrication, problem solving, and team management. International competitions provide a stage to validate and display the engineering skill of the team in front of the academic and professional world.
Members benefit by being able to apply their academic skills into hands-on, real-world problems. They are able to learn CAD, general shop skills, communication, collaboration, leadership, and more.
