About Us
Ballet Folklorico Mitotiani is an organization meant to create an understanding and connection of Mexican and Latinx cultures through folkloric dance and represent the various diverse regions of Mexico on campus and within the Champaign-Urbana community. This organization is a safe space for many of our students because they know that they can feel connected to their roots when they watch or dance folklorico. As the Latinx population on this campus continues to grow, it is essential to celebrate and embrace the diversity within our community, demonstrating that the university values and supports its Latinx students. Ballet Folklorico Mitotiani represents the regions of Jalisco, Sinaloa, Michoacan, Nuevo Leon, Chihuahua, Veracruz, Baja California, and Durango and is constantly working towards expanding these regions.
