GradSWE is primarily a support community and advocate for graduate women and gender minorities in engineering and STEM. We encourage women and gender minorities to pursue graduate school, support them throughout their graduate education, and help prepare them for their future careers after they complete their degree. GradSWE provides a variety of events to further our purpose, some of which are listed below: weSTEM Conference: an annual one-day conference designed to inspire and connect current and aspiring STEM leaders in gender minorities with lectures, workshops, and breakout sessions. Graduate Orientation for Women and Gender Minorities (GrOW): an annual event for incoming graduate students to build community and learn about campus resources. Professional Development Lunches: monthly lunches to learn more about and develop professional skills. Social Events: monthly events to bond with the graduate community - often with food and activities. Undergraduate Mentorship Program: a specialized program that pairs undergraduates interested in graduate school or other mentorship with a graduate student. Fun activities and active mentorship are mainstays of our program. Outreach: frequent outreach activities, including Jump Into Science and Tiger Academy.
