About Us
The Women in Engineering (WIE) program at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign's Grainger College of Engineering was established in 1993 as an effort to provide support to students as they build community in engineering. WIE's focus on the University of Illinois campus is to provide equity in access and experiences for all interested in studying at The Grainger College of Engineering. To achieve these goals, WIE, offers and/or promotes programs for a variety of students: engineering summer camps for high school students through the WYSE program, orientation camps for all freshman women engineering students, mentoring and leadership elective courses, personalized academic and professional success advising, and professional development workshops including leadership training to provide personal skill development and career preparation for current students.
