About Us

A. The purpose of the Japanese Student Association at UIUC is to promote Japanese culture within the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign community. B. The Japanese Student Association at UIUC aims to bridge the University between the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign community and newly arriving Japanese students as international students, as well as Japanese exchange students. C. The Japanese Student Association at UIUC’s mission statement is to provide an outlook on Japanese culture for University of Illinois Students and provide insights about the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign prospective students.

Members Benefits

Members of JSA gain access to a variety of cultural, social, and language-based experiences, including events, fundraisers, and weekly Japanese Conversation Table (JCT) sessions. Members also receive free food during monthly food nights and may benefit from discounts at local campus-area stores through JSA sponsorships. In addition, members can get involved through committees (cultural, marketing, athletics, JCT), develop leadership skills, and build community with others interested in Japanese culture.
