About Us
North Star is a student organization that was inspired by the 3 Wishes Program originally established at UCLA. This initiative was created during the COVID-19 pandemic when non-essential workers were not allowed in the hospital in an effort to decrease the risk of viral spread and exposure. Borne from a desire to continue to help out those in need, volunteer artists began to create commemorative fingerprint paintings that incorporated and transformed patients' fingerprints into unique keepsakes for their families. With North Star, we aim to continue this meaningful initiative here with Carle Foundation Hospital.
