Our mission is to spread and support 4 Paws for Ability’s mission of enriching the lives of people with disabilities by placing life-changing service dogs while educating members of the club and members of society about service dogs and their importance.

A Better Place (ABP) serves to improve the lives of people, restore the
planet, and advocate for nonhuman animals through plant-based
living initiatives. These core tenets are achieved through volunteerism,
tabling events, fundraisers, and education. Plant-based living is a core part of
ABP’s mission, but it is not forced on anyone. Education with evidence is
employed instead of guilt or shaming.

Mission
We're the Academic Buzzer Team at the University of Illinois. We participate in tournaments of quiz bowl, a competition between two teams in which players answer academic questions in categories such as fine arts, history, literature, science and social sciences. We also host tournaments at the high school and colligate levels and produce question sets for use at other tournaments.

"Regular" questions are called "Tossups", and they are written with many clue, with harder clues proceeding easier clues in what is called "Pyramidal" structure. This way players with deeper knowledge of a subject can give correct answers earlier, rewarding extensive knowledge. A team that answers a tossup correctly is given a bonus, as set of (Usually) three related questions that only the controlling team may answer.

The Actuarial Science Club is a student-run organization which communicates with the Actuarial Science Department to provide our students with career, social, and networking opportunities. In the fall, we run about 15-20 company presentations with recruiters from insurance and consulting firms to help educate students about industry trends and help them find internships and full-time positions. Additionally, we run a large-scale career fair called Meet the Firms in late September each year. We also host workshops to help our members develop essential skills for their professional life. More events pop-up throughout the year including our field trips to companies and annual spring banquet.

Adventure Club offers a one-of-a-kind social experience. On day one, each new member is sorted into one of four teams that compete in weekly “Adventures”. From scavenger hunts and trivia to creative challenges and outdoor games, you'll never know what you're doing until you show up!

Through the fight to earn points and win the semester, friendships are forged through fun and flames. Outside of Adventures, we host regular socials like local trivia nights, group outings, camping trips, and more!

The AeroGSAC is to serve as a voice for all graduate students in the AE department,
and to provide opportunities to help these students grow. The Committee strives toward
continuous improvement of the department to serve the needs of the graduate students. In
addition, the Committee intends to organize events in order to build a larger graduate
community, helping with networking and creating a safe space for everyone to discuss things
with one another. The Committee meets with the Head of the Department, Associate Head, and
Coordinator of Academic Programs to discuss the Committee’s concerns and concerns brought
to the attention of the Committee by the graduate student body. The Committee does not serve
as a formal grievance committee.

The African Students Organization (herein referred to as ASO) mission is to create an enabling environment for African graduate students, support and prepare Africans who transition from the African continents to pursue a degree, especially graduate students, at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and to offer training and leadership services to such students that will serve the African continent and help relieve it from the socio-political and economic crises that ravaged its member states for over centuries ago. Afterwards serves as the premier organization hosted at Carle Illinois College of Medicine and open to any on the larger UIUC campus, to create a space to explore the humanities within medicine primarily through medical ethics, narrative medicine, literary and visual art creation focusing on illustrating the humanistic aspect of healthcare. AI Alignment @ Illinois serves to educate UIUC students on critical AI safety and alignment challenges while funneling them into advanced programs and careers in the field. We provide a structured pathway—from introductory reading groups through technical fellowships and workshops—that prepares students for opportunities including ARENA, MATS, research positions, and AI governance roles. By offering accessible programming for both technical and non-technical students, we build a pipeline of skilled individuals ready to contribute meaningfully to AI safety research, policy, and industry careers.

Members all have access to general workshops, where we go over how to build and break state of the art AI systems, with minimal experience required, speaker events with guests from Illinois and beyond, and advice on gaining entrance into the field, with workshops on applications into the preeminent programs (MATS, SPAR, and more!) and pathways into on-campus labs.

Additionally, members can apply to join our specific programs, currently including both an eight week fundamental reading group, designed to build knowledge on the problem AI Alignment challenges and how to get involved, and an eight week fellowship, designed to build technical experience with the current frontline methods and build projects to demonstrate these skills.
