The AeroGSAC is to serve as a voice for all graduate students in the AE department,
and to provide opportunities to help these students grow. The Committee strives toward
continuous improvement of the department to serve the needs of the graduate students. In
addition, the Committee intends to organize events in order to build a larger graduate
community, helping with networking and creating a safe space for everyone to discuss things
with one another. The Committee meets with the Head of the Department, Associate Head, and
Coordinator of Academic Programs to discuss the Committee’s concerns and concerns brought
to the attention of the Committee by the graduate student body. The Committee does not serve
as a formal grievance committee.

Chi Epsilon (XE) is the National Civil Engineering Honor Society in the United States, dedicated to recognizing students who embody the principles of scholarship, character, practicality, and sociability in the civil engineering profession. Founded on May 20, 1922, at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, it emerged from the efforts of two groups of civil engineering students who independently petitioned to establish an honorary fraternity. Since then, Chi Epsilon has grown to 147 chapters nationwide, with over 125,000 initiated members.

The University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign chapter, known as the Alpha Chapter, provides a platform for members to engage deeply with both academic and industry facets of civil engineering. The chapter emphasizes a balance between professional development opportunities and social activities, fostering a community of like-minded individuals. Membership is extended each semester to students with junior and senior standing in the top third of their class, as well as to all graduate students.

The Sudden Cardiac-Death Awareness Research Foundation: University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign Chapter aims to give passionate individuals the chance to participate in healthcare
innovation and research projects specifically focused on the area of Cardiac diseases. Specifically,
we hope to focus this research and innovation on heart disease and cardiac arrests. We are also
dedicated to the professional and career development of our members. We want to give members
a chance not only to hear from professionals in the healthcare field but also to build skills,
including networking, communication, public speaking, and analysis through a research
symposium at the end of each semester, where students will be given a chance to present their
healthcare innovations. We hope to collaborate with other healthcare, engineering, and
philanthropic R.S.O.s on campus to organize coordinated events that would benefit all members.
In addition to skill development, our educational initiatives include public awareness campaigns
and informational cardiac health and prevention events. We will continuously spearhead
fundraising efforts to donate to the original chapter of S.C.A.R.F., which uses the money to aid

to increase the accessibility and awareness of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) in our
