What if I wasn't selected as a James Scholar at the start of my first year fall semester. Can I still apply and recieve credit as a James Scholar?
Yes, you can still receive the James Scholars Distinction for your first year. To do so, you must:
-Attain a 3.50 UIUC GPA in the fall semester of your first year
-Submit a Semester Plan each fall and spring semester through the James Scholar Portal until graduation
-Take an Honors Section of a course (CHP or be a designated honors course) OR complete an Honors Credit Learning Agreement for a NON-pass/fail course (due by the 30th day of classes).
Students who complete the above requirements before entering the James Scholar Program will have them counted for the first year only, provided the completed requirements are listed in their James Scholar semester plan.
