Summer is a junior studying Food Science from Crystal Lake, Illinois. She started riding horses when she was nine and has continued ever since! Most of her horse experience comes from volunteering at Hooves to Heal, a therapeutic equestrian center where she enjoys working with riders and horses alike. Additionally, she has worked with horses at a summer camp, volunteered at a horse rescue, judged Equine Trail Sport events, and showed with the English IHSA team!
Mae is a sophomore majoring in Animal Sciences Pre-Veterinary Medicine. She is from Champaign and has been riding horses since she was four years old. She only started showing when she was a sophomore in high school as she didn’t have any interest in showing until her trainer asked her to be on her IEA team. She now teaches lessons to others and competes on the Illini Equestrians English Show Team.
Bella is a junior majoring in Animal Sciences. She is from Batavia, Illinois and has been riding since she was five years old. She has done many disciplines of riding, but currently focuses on dressage and jumping. During the summers she also works at a camp where she teaches riding every day and helps lead trail rides or other activities around the barn.
Rebecca is a senior studying Computer Engineering. She is from Longmont, Colorado and has been riding since she was eleven years old. She has a paint horse at home named Apache but did not start showing until her first year of college, when she joined the Illini Equestrians Western Show Team.
Katie is a sophomore studying Chemistry with a minor in Anthropology on the Pre-Med track. She hopes to go into sports medicine and work with other equestrian athletes. She has been riding for 14 years and has an extensive background in the Saddleseat discipline, but also shows her own hunter (and Saddlebreds) in her home state of Texas. This is her third semester on the Illini Equestrians as a member of the English IHSA team.
Beth is a sophomore.
Ally is a junior majoring in Psychology with a minor in Anthropology. She is from Palos Hills, Illinois and has been riding for 15 years. She rides in the hunter/jumper discipline, starting out in IEA and showing in B shows in the off-season. This is her third year on the English team.
Raena is a sophomore in Crop Science. She is from Tolono, IL and has been riding her whole life. She competes in eventing on her own horse as well as teaching some riding lessons; she enjoys being able to share her love of horses with her students! She has mostly ridden English in the past but has found a love of Western riding through this Western show team and is excited to be this year's Western show team coordinator!
