Katie is a senior studying Chemistry with minors in Biology and Anthropology. She is from Dallas, Texas, where she has been showing Saddlebreds since she was six years old. She rides in the Equitation, Five-Gaited, Roadster, and Hunter Pleasure divisions. Katie has six National Championship and six Reserve National Championship titles with her Saddlebred horses, and even won the Reserve World Title this year! She also started riding hunters in 2022, and currently shows in the Low Adult Hunters with her Dutch Warmblood. This will be her fourth year on the Hunt Seat team and third year on the Executive Board.
Julia is a junior from Shanghai, China majoring in Animal Sciences. She has been riding since October 2012, where she competed in the jumpers in China and reached 130 cm! This season will now be her third year with the English Team, where she will be showing in Limit flat and fences.
Mia is a sophomore majoring in Consumer Econ and Finance on the Pre-Law track. She is from Glenview, Illinois and has been riding since she was thirteen years old. At home, she rides at a hunter jumper barn and works as a camp counselor for children with disabilities. This will be her third semester with the Illini Equestrians, and she will be showing on both the Western and Hunt Seat teams.
Kelly is a junior from Arlington Heights, IL studying Animal Sciences. She started riding in the Spring of 2016 at Palatine Stables, and now rides on the Hunt Seat team for the Iliini Equestrians. Last season, she qualified for regionals in Limit flat! Kelly is also involved in ACES Leadership and the Women's Rugby Team here on campus. This season will be her third year on the team, where she will be competing in Limit O/F and Intermediate Flat.
Portia is a sophomore from Wheaton, IL studying Animal Sciences on a Pre-Vet track, and she hopes to be an Equine Veterinarian in the future. She has been riding for six years, and has since showed in the jumpers, hunters, and equitation around the NIHJA and A circuits. This will be her third semester showing with the Hunt Seat Team and second semster showing with the Western Team.
Amy is a sophomore from Highland Park, IL and is majoeing in Molecular and Cellular Biology. This will be her second year on the Hunt Seat team and first year on the executive board. When she is not competing in IHSA, she normally competes in the jumpers, where she has gone up to 1.10 meters.
Abby is a junior from Tolono, IL majoring in Agriculture and Consumer Economics. She starting riding in January of 2021 at 15 years old, and this will be her third year on the Western team.
Nicole is a junior from Park Ridge, IL majoring in Animal Sciences on the Pre-Vet Track. She started riding in Poland when she was nine years old, and has since ridden mostly in the jumpers but this summer she was a guide in the Rocky Mountains. Last year, she won the High Point Flat Class Award from the Illini Equestrians, and she will continue to compete in her third year on the Hunt Seat team!
