ISUR

The Grainger College of Engineering Illinois Scholars Undergraduate Research (ISUR) Program offers a structured, two-semester research experience within a collaborative research learning community. Utilizing a learning-by-apprenticeship model, ISUR introduces students to the research process and supports the development of foundational research skills.

Through participation in the ISUR program, students:

• Gain hands-on research experience
• Work closely with graduate student or postdoctoral mentors and faculty sponsors
• Develop skills essential for graduate study or research-focused industry careers
• Build technical and professional communication skills

Students conduct research throughout the fall and spring semesters and present their work at the annual ISUR Poster Expo each spring.
